Working closely with the Digital Education team, Naveed wished to develop an assessment strategy online for students to present a 30-minute presentation on simulation. There was a need to develop an alternative method of presenting in person as the lecturer had moved to an Associate Lecturer contract and was based at a different location but would also an attempt to diversify the ways in which the institution use technology in the delivery and assessment of student work. The current system of delivery for these assessments was an in person presentation.
After discussions with the Digital Education team, Naveed resolved to use Skype for Business as the delivery method for the presentations. Students would be given an allotted time to setup and then present in their groups while Naveed would remained logged in and available through a Skype for Business video call to answer any questions students had. In the room where the students were presenting there would be a member of academic staff to act as a second marker/moderator and a Digital Learning Designer to act as support where required.
