Invenite

Welcome to the inaugural edition of Invenite, our magazine for alumni, supporters and friends of the University of Plymouth

Introduction from the Vice-Chancellor

Welcome to the inaugural edition of Invenite, our new magazine for alumni, supporters and friends of the University of Plymouth.

The name is drawn from our Coat of Arms' Latin motto, Indagate Fingite Invenite which means Explore, Dream, Discover as a fitting tribute to the shared heritage of everyone whose lives the University has helped shape or who have played a part in the University’s journey so far.

Invenite, in particular, means to ‘discover’ which is very much the ethos of the magazine, as it is about discovery and indeed rediscovery in celebrating achievement, embracing heritage and location, and demonstrating the ever-growing influence and reach of the University and its people.

Through a lens of current affairs, thought leadership and exclusive interviews, Invenite throws the spotlight on all that is special about this University and its people - discovering new developments such as the impact of our world class research, the growth of the campus, how the city is changing and the amazing achievements of our graduates.

We thank everyone who contributed to this edition, and hope you enjoy what we hope is an informative, visually striking and lively read.
