BA (Hons) 3D Design – Spatial and Interior Designer

Tesla one stop shop by Andrea Carausu BA (Hons) 3D Design Spatial and Interior Designer student.

Spatial and interior designers are: contemporary, connected, creative

We create graduates with ‘attitude’ and a ‘point of view’ who can develop their ideas and explore their potential.

With a focus on interior design and place making we explore experiential design and branded spaces working at a range of scales that fill the space between objects and architecture. You’ll learn to influence the experience of users through the creative shaping of space, form, colour, materials and furniture.

The studio practice mirrors contemporary professional practice, helping you develop the skills and confidence to succeed in the job market. We work on live projects to evolve client and user relationships that encourage creative thinking and innovation.

This course produces students who’ve gone on to successful careers within design and architectural practices such as Fosters and Partners, Soho House Group, the BBC and Yoo Interiors (Starck & Hitchcox).

Becoming a spatial designer

You’ll learn how to develop and create innovative, practical and contemporary spaces through gaining a hands-on understanding of material, processes, construction and model making methods.

By developing your own robust ideology, you’ll gain confidence to develop ground-breaking concepts, backed by high levels of CAD visualisation skills.

Graduates from our course are adaptable and flexible and are working at major design consultancies, running their own businesses, working as freelance designers, or have moved into education or postgraduate research.

Final year 3D Design (Spatial and Interior design) student, Sean Hungwe, discusses his work on display at the final year art and design degree show HOT'17.
