BA (Hons) Counselling Studies

The Cornwall College Group offers a wide range of undergraduate programmes across eight campuses throughout Cornwall and Devon, including Bicton College, Cornwall College, Duchy College and Falmouth Marine School.     • CORC394 Advanced Integrative Theory and Practice

      This module introduces students to the principles integration with an emphasis on a pluralistic approach to practice. It offers the opportunity for students to consider in depth their own approach and philosophical position as a therapist within a clinical setting

    • CORC395 Counselling Independent Research Study

      This dissertation module provides students with the opportunity to explore in depth a negotiated subject related to counselling, and research the topic independently under academic supervision.

    • COUN301 Counselling in a Contemporary Context: Identity, Diversity and Difference

      This module, drawing on a range of philosophical, sociological and cultural understandings of identity, critically explores these constructs in relation to counselling in contemporary society. The influences of ethnicity, disability and sexuality are examined and applied to the role of counsellor and the identities of clients.

    • CORC363 Transpersonal Approaches

      This module focuses on students' personal development, using imagery, myth and interpersonal relationships as a way of exploring the deeper implications of events in their lives. It will also provide students with an opportunity to re-examine their motives for working in this sector and develop strategies for reducing stress and enriching practice.
