Dr Darren Aoki, Lecturer in World History, and Dr Carly Adams from the University of Lethbridge have been awarded a five-year Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) Insight Development Grant worth $144,000 for their oral history project: 'Transforming Canadian Nikkei'. They will continue to explore the cultural and social of people of Japanese descent in southern Alberta from 1950 to the 21st century, in partnership with the Galt Museum and Archives, Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden, and the Nikkei Cultural Society of Lethbridge and Area.
