The MSci course provides a wide range of topic choice across ocean science with opportunity for you to draw options across three specialist BSc courses in Ocean Exploration and Surveying, Oceanography and Coastal Processes, and Ocean Science and Marine Conservation. Additionally, in the final year, you can choose from three MSc pathways that allow you to either further develop a specialism or pursue training for a specific employment sector:
- The applied marine science pathway with its broad range of option modules allows you to further develop your specialist knowledge and skills and apply them to address issues of global environmental and societal impact.
- The marine renewable energy pathway equips you to enter this employment sector responding to a need to maintain the UK at the forefront of development in marine renewables.
- The hydrography pathway has a strong vocational and practical emphasis, and produces graduates with skills sought after in the offshore industry, nearshore surveying and marine resource development and management.
