The Centre for Mathematical Sciences at the University of Plymouth has active research groups in Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics and Theoretical Physics, and strong collaborative links internationally and within the UK.
Our research is supported by our own High Performance Computing facility. The supercomputer is a state of the art cluster comprising more than 1,000 cores using InfiniBand for fast communication. The Mathematical Sciences Research Centre is part of the School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics

High Performance Computing (HPC)

The High Performance Computing (HPC) resource provides researchers with the resources they need to answer complex questions in science, engineering and mathematics.
More than 150 staff, researchers and students benefit from the use of the HPC, helping us perform research into new energy solutions, subatomic interactions, and more.

Environmental Futures and Big Data Impact Lab

The Environmental Futures and Big Data Impact Lab provides a wide range of valuable support for businesses in Devon. Big data is viewed as an 'enabler' for all of the projects we deliver, but it may also be a key component for some projects. We use the term big data to encompass not only the data itself but also the skills, knowledge and capability to manipulate and exploit it.
