Taking on more staff can be a great sign of business success but how can you make sure your new employees will provide the same quality your business was known for when it was just a small start-up?

How can you ensure that your staff are confident to take responsibility and get on with the job, leaving you with the time to get on with yours?

This free taster short course will help you address these questions by giving you the key tools and techniques needed to lead, manage and coach your staff. The course will be particularly useful for managers and owners of small but growing businesses, as well as people new to leading and managing a team or department.

Session 1: Thursday 27 June
Session 2: Thursday 18 July

Sessions start at 19.00 and finish at 21.00. Attendance at both sessions required

The University of Plymouth is working in partnership with the Federation of Small Businesses to organise a series of evening training courses for businesses across Devon and Somerset. These courses are being delivered by tutors from the University of Plymouth, with private sector business experience.

The training forms part of the Hidden Talent and Strategic Employer Engagement projects which are funded by the European Social Fund.

Important information:

Due to the nature of the funding delegates are required to bring ID as proof of age and the right to work in the UK.

Strategic Employer Engagement and Hidden Talent

The Strategic Employer Engagement (SEE) and Hidden Talent projects provide opportunities to unlock unrealised potential through improving access to higher education for businesses and individuals across Devon and Somerset.

Supported by the European Social Fund, the projects bring together educational partners across the region to deliver outreach, engagement and skills development activities to promote and encourage participation in higher-level skills, regardless of ability or education level.
