The Global Health Collaborative (GHC) was set up in 2016 to bring together individuals and organisations, across Plymouth and the wider South West, who have an interest in or are already working in, global health.
The GHC is sponsored by Health Education England and looks to harness and utilise expertise, enthusiasm and innovative thinking from a broad range of health and associated professionals. The collaborative draws together clinicians, academics and researchers from within the University and the NHS, in its bid to contribute to the development of sustainable global health projects, through the effective delivery, evaluation and coordination of their management.

Events and conferences

The GHC has used conferences and ‘Global Health Cafes’ to bring its members and those working within the sphere of global health together to present and discuss contemporary issues.
The most recent GHC conference was held as a virtual event in November 2021, and was able to welcome speakers from Kenya, Rwanda and Zambia, as well as those from the UK. In the wake of the pandemic the conference naturally focused on the shift towards remote partnerships. Key speakers may be found on our YouTube channel.
Announcements of any upcoming Global Health Cafes or conferences will be made via our Twitter feed @GlobalHealthPU and our newsletter.
