Research funding skills

Research and Innovation provides a range of training to help you find funding sources and write successful applications. The sessions below are delivered online and last one hour.
In addition to the courses listed below, we are also available to work with Schools, Research Institutes, Faculties and research groups to provide bespoke training, such as:  
  • working with Research Professional to set up personal alerts to find funding opportunities
  • developing applications before submission and//or considering unsuccessful applications and how they can be improved
  • considering specific funders or schemes, e.g. Future Leaders Fellowships
  • focusing on specific topic of interest to early career researchers.

How to book

Bookings for 2023/24 courses can be made through Employee Self Service. Log in with your user name and password and select Learning and Development and then search courses by typing the key words 'research support' to list all of the 2023/24 Research & Innovation research funding courses.

12. Update on Horizon Europe

Research & Innovation organised an online Horizon Europe briefing session for University of Plymouth staff. 
Our European Adviser from the UK Research Office in Brussels provided an update on developments and there were opportunities to ask questions. We also highlighted some of our successful EU projects funded by UKRI guarantee. 
This event was open to University staff as part of our subscription to UKRO services.

UKRO annual visit

In addition to our regular training sessions we host an annual visit from the UK Research Office in Brussels on all aspects of EU research funding.
