This close working partnership between the university and the museum enables many students to test their skills and experience in real world situations.
The students come from many subject areas including Art History, English, History and Marketing, and are thrown together with a broad brief to engage the local community with the museum's major exhibitions.
Young Explainer Lawrence Hendra, BA (Hons) Art History
Lately I discovered a previously lost work by Sir Joshua Reynolds, mis-catalogued by a leading auction house. If I hadn’t been involved in a Young Explainers project called ‘Living Reynolds’ in 2010, I very much doubt I would have spotted it.
Lawrence is now Associate Director with Philip Mould & Company in London, and the newest member of the team on the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow.
