Student competitions and scholarships
Our students excel in national competitions. For example, they have won national Mooting, Client Interviewing and FLUX (business) competitions (beating Cambridge and many Russell Group universities along the way) and reached the finals of the national Negotiation competition. In 2017 they also held their internal Mooting final in the Supreme Court, London and won 5 major Bar scholarships from the Inns of Court out of approximately 60 awarded nationally.
Employability
Our focus is on providing you with a wide range of legal and professional skills to gain employment in your chosen career. This will allow you not only to become a solicitor or barrister but also to enter numerous other professions. For instance, many of our students have gone on to become journalists, politicians, senior managers, business entrepreneurs and legal academics. Employers are aware that our students have the skills they want, such as public speaking, problem-solving, critical thinking, researching, and offering practical advice. Well over 90 per cent of our students are in work and/or further study 6 months post graduation, with 80 per cent in professional or managerial employment.
