Nick is now a freelance consultant, working across the government, commercial and charity sectors to deliver value and effect change where it's most needed. An economist by training, he is committed to applying intellectual rigour to challenge orthodoxies and to identify the long term trajectory through which that change will be delivered.
Until recently, Nick headed up Fundraising Strategy & Development at RNIB, with responsibility for strategy and planning, insight, information management, innovation and database management. During the most recent strategy iteration, he successfully developed and led the case for a doubling in fundraising investment, and under his stewardship the data insight function at RNIB has won multiple awards.
He joined RNIB after a decade in fundraising, both client and agency side, with particular expertise in strategy, data-driven marketing and analytics.
He has a BA in philosophy, politics, economics from Oxford University, postgraduate diploma in charity management from Cass Business School, and an MBA from London Business School. He is a Fellow of the RSA, and lectured on the MSc in fundraising at London Southbank University.
