Mutant Labs games

Alex Ryley, Benjamin Reynhart, Rich Searle, Andy Sargeant and Chris Mayoh all graduated from digital art and technology in 2009. Having become firm friends during their studies, they discovered a mutual love of creating games and exploring new interactive technologies. When they graduated, the group decided to kickstart their own careers by launching Mutant Labs. The company designs and builds mobile, cross-platform and browser games enjoyed by thousands worldwide. They mix powerful cross-platform development techniques with highly polished visuals to deliver products for a wide range of agencies, entertainment networks and businesses.

Mutant Labs clients have included Oxford University Press, Moshi Monsters and The Gadget Show. Mutant Labs invest heavily in research and development, exploring new technology, concepts and ideas to fuel future commercial projects. Managing Director, Alex Ryley, attributes Plymouth University’s digital art and technology course for giving them the skills required to set up their own business:

"After taking a module together on our course, myself and four of my course mates decided that starting a business and working together was something that we would like to explore after university. With such an uncertain future facing many graduates due to the economic slump, starting our own company seemed to make more sense. We could combine the skills learnt during our course to help us stand out by offering high quality design and development services."
