Jessica Kitch awarded Geomorphology Dissertation Prize 2018

Jessica's project: ‘Sediment Source Fingerprinting in The Merriott Stream Catchment, Somerset’ was advised by Professor Will Blake in collaboration with Dr John Phillips from the Environment Agency and applied river basin diagnostic tools developed in a recent Horizon 2020 project Integrating isotopic techniques with Bayesian modelling for improved assessment and management of global sedimentation problems (IMIXSED) to an erosion ‘hotspot’ in the River Parrett catchment.

Jessica is currently working in the School as Research Technician on the Newton Fund RCUK-CONICYT project ‘Making soil erosion understandable and governable at the river basin scale for food, water and hydropower sustainability in Latin America’.

Many congratulations Jess!
