Miss Anna Fisker Hansen
School of Computing, Electronics and Mathematics (Faculty of Science and Engineering)
As part of the technical team in the School of Computing, Electronics and Mathematics I am jointly responsible for the day-to-day running of the Smeaton Project Store.
My role requires me to manage equipment and kit loans for students and staff, log access to our labs, organise timetabled classes and free access lab time, and ensuring this information is displayed clearly on notice boards.
I am also responsible for purchasing for project student and staff, maintaining store stock levels, receiving goods from external suppliers and notifying staff when their orders have arrived. I keep inventory of the items purchased and add new kits to our loans system.
I assist with general husbandry of the labs, making sure consumable components are stocked up and giving a helping hand where it is needed whenever it is with kitting up, maintenance of lab equipment or organising the lab for special events like our annual project day.
I am still relatively new to the university, having joined in March 2018; however I have brought some new ways of thinking to the role, and have helped implement new procedures in the project store for this academic year. More is still to come, so watch this space!
