Biography
Biography
I am Student Wellbeing Services Manager, responsible for three teams: Mental Health Support; the Multi Faith Pastoral and Spiritual Support Service and the Student Counselling Service.
I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor, a qualified and experienced counselling supervisor and an experienced line manager of staff.
I believe in a multi-disciplinary approach to student wellbeing that ensures that students are offered a range of interventions to support mild, moderate and severe mental health conditions.
I am Chair of the 'Heads of University Counselling Services' (HUCS) Executive, a member of the Plymouth Suicide Prevention Strategic Partnership and a member of the University of Plymouth Mental Health Taskforce.

I have over twenty years experience as a counsellor, working with diverse client groups including: the University of the Arts London (students), the Metropolitan Police Service (Police and civilian staff) and The CASSEL Centre (a community setting in South East London). I have worked in social care settings with street homeless people and with mentally vulnerable ex-offenders.
I have worked as a Counselling Supervisor in voluntary sector counselling agencies including: Victim Support Lambeth (VSL), City and East London Bereavement Service (CELBS) and The CASSEL Centre. I I supervise Associate Volunteer Counsellors on placement with Plymouth University.

This paper won the Plymouth Institute of Education Prize for the BestDoctoral Paper presented at the Conference
