Teaching interests
My main teaching interest lies in the (shared) integrated curriculum within the dental professions.
Integrating education in undergraduate dentists and dental hygiene therapists, although common, is not consistent throughout both programmes. This leads to barriers such as hierarchies, preconceptions and a lack of understanding of each others roles. As part of the introduction of the BSc DTH Programme in 2013, I introduced the integrated curriculum, whereby students from both programmes share all teaching. learning and assessment within their shared Scope of Practice.
