Specialist Advisor -providing support and advice to research staff across the university to help deliver successful funding proposals. I deal with a wide range of funders including the EU, Research Councils and charities.
For over 20 years I have worked in support and management roles within higher education both in academic departments and central services. I advise and support research staff to develop successful funding proposals. I deal with a wide range of funders including the EU, Research Councils and charities. Previously I coordinated the Research Excellence Framework 2014 institutional submission and helped develop and capture research impact.
In the past I was involved in the whole of the student journey from admissions and programme approvals to registration, assessment and graduation ceremonies. I have spent most of my working life at University of Plymouth where I have actively promoted Association of University Administrators (AUA) membership among my colleagues, particularly in further education colleges in the South West. Through this work I was instrumental in Plymouth being awarded the AUA Branch Good Practice Award in 2008.
I am a fellow of the AUA and a mentor, and an active member of the Association of Research Administrators and Managers (ARMA). I was part of the coordination group of the Research Impact Network which was a grass roots network of UK Higher Education administrative and professional staff working in a variety of roles related to research impact.
