Qualifications

I graduated from Oxford Brookes University having focused my undergraduate research on effective interventions for impaired self-awareness following traumatic brain injury. I went on to work in Trauma and Orthopedics at the Royal Berkshire Hospital (RBH) after graduating. 

After my time at RBH I went on to work in Adult Social Care, firstly in Oxfordshire and then in Devon. I specialised in equipment, adaptations and moving and handling. 

Since joining the occupational therapy team at the University of Plymouth I have commenced studying for my Post Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice and my MSc Advanced Professional Practice in Occupational Therapy. 

My teaching responsibilities include modules on the BSc programme across all three stages and I am module lead for the BSc Practice Placement modules.

Teaching interests

I have module leadership responsibility for the following modules:


- OCT405 - Practice Placement 1
- OCT524 - Practice Placement 2
- OCT603 - Practice Placement 3 

I teach on a range of modules across the BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy programme including OCT401, OCT404, OCT522, OCT523, OCT524 and OCT601. 

Research interests

I am currently engaged in MSc level study in the Advanced Professional Practice in Occupational Therapy programme. 

I have a range of research interests especially in the areas of adult social care and social prescribing, I plan to use this topic for my MSc dissertation research project.

I am engaged in the Post Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP) which will enable me to gain a professional higher education teaching qualification and explore topics such as using technology to enhance learning for students within university education.
