I first joined the university in June 2014 as a temporary Senior Project Administrator in the School of Geography, Earth & Environmental Sciences, liaising between the school and central university services on several projects.  One of my main projects was to organise an event celebrating 40 years of Environmental Science at Plymouth University, held on Plymouth Hoe in September 2013.  

I then joined ASTI (Academic Support - Technology & Innovation) as a Digital Learning Advocate, working in a 6-month temporary role within the Business Faculty to support academic staff during implementation of the new Moodle-based virtual learning environment (VLE).  This included training and support in the features and functionality of a range of learning technologies.

I moved to the Development Office in May 2014 as a Database Officer, where I was mainly involved in day-to-day management and administration of the alumni and development database and related functions, including training and support, implementing new developments, data improvement, etc.  I also undertook research and analysis to support the Alumni Relations, Fundraising and External Relations functions.  From July-Dec 2017 I worked as a Data Compliance Officer in the Development Office, preparing for GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations).

I moved to a part-time role as an administrator in the Doctoral College in Dec 2017 to allow me to study part-time for a Trinity College CertTESOL qualification in teaching English to speakers of other languages, at the Open Doors International Language School in Plymouth (due to qualify in May 2018).

Previous experience includes over 25 years with large national and multinational organisations in multidisciplinary, worldwide and virtual sales, marketing, business development and training teams, together with 7 years experience in various educational establishments.
