Biography

Biography

Jon joined the Paramedic team in April 2019. He has a specialism in clinical research, is the BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science programme link for all three undergraduate inter-professional modules, and contributes to other undergraduate and master's level modules. Jon is the nominated research lead for paramedicine, supporting high quality student research. He is undertaking a PhD focusing on the effects of minor traumatic brain injuries on the visual and vestibular systems, and is ambitious to support the development of the University of Plymouth as a leading centre for prehospital research.

Qualifications

Since studying psychology and briefly working in mental health, Jon has accumulated 19 years of front-line ambulance experience across the Southwest of England.

Anything related to paramedicine, but particularly research methods and conduct, evidence based practice, airway management, cardiac arrest, supraventricular tachycardia, acute coronary syndrome and frailty.
