Ms Sallyann Sharpe
Project Support Officer
I am a full member of the Institute of Innovation and Knowledge Exchange (MIKE) and have an avid interest in all aspects of economic growth and productivity in the workforce. My early career was around workbased learning as a vocational assessor, mentor and verifier.
My previous roles with the University of Plymouth start back in 2008 and included leading and managing the Enterprise Solutions service, the main entry point for business enquiries through a dedicated Freephone number and email response.
I was Project Manager for the HEIF funded Economic Challenge Investment Fund and Graduate Internships, my responsibility was to lead a team of 7 where we engaged and built new client relationships, strengthened existing relations and expanded our portfolio of services taken up with local and national industrial contacts. The role included managing and facilitating representation at business events, conducting company visits to undertaking training needs and organisational needs analysis to better understand the customers’ requirements, signpost internally to our experts and then monitor and track progress.
I was the driving force for the implementation, design and maintenance of the Enterprise Solutions suite of webpages and included video clips to better explain complex programmes such as Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP).
I led and devised pro-active marketing campaigns to promote the business services of the university and work with stakeholders, networks and partner organisations (network relationship management) to foster collaborative and reciprocal referrals.
In addition I am a qualified mentor and business coach with the IOEE. I have a solid network of connections within the University and in the geographical region and ran my own business for three years successfully.
Coming back to my current role, which I enjoy very much, I have expanded my recent knowledge to include basic oceanography, cataloging data for research analysis and generating reports as required.
