I am a lecturer and Associate Head of School Post Graduate (PG) Study, where I take a strategic and organisational lead for our master's provision, working with programme and module leads.

My research interests include psychosocial elements of problem drinking within families, impact and strategies to enable drinking within recommended limits.

I have fulfilled several leadership roles within the university environment and have experience of curriculum development and taking modules through validation and re-validation events.

I am studying for a Post Graduate Diploma in CBT (high intensity).

I teach across undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral programmes. 

My teaching focus includes leadership and management, qualitative research methods, alcohol related subjects for example, psychosocial elements of alcohol consumption, transgenerational transmission of patterns of behaviour/drinking, anatomy and physiology of the liver.

Research interests

I am interested in qualitative research approaches and have undertaken empirical studies using grounded theory, thematic analysis and constructivist grounded theory. My main area of research focus is drinking within the family, patterns of drinking behaviour and impact.
