Biography

Research Coordinator for the Faculty of Health. I joined Plymouth University in May 2013 as a Research Administrator working on a variety of projects, supporting the delivery of research and administration within the Schools of Medicine and Dentistry. I have worked in a variety of roles, based around research within the university and collaborating establishments. This has enabled me to gain a lot of experience and working practices give me the skills and knowledge to lead the Research Support Team for the Faculty of Health.
My current role involves: Research award application processes, internal faculty and school studentship applications, support for the ADR and wider research teams, Studentships finance, collaboration with external funders, REF, supporting large individual research awards, event management, research related training and CPD development courses,. 
I have 30 years’ experience working in the Education sector across a variety of sector skills. For seven years I was Head of Academy for Health at a large South West College managing all aspects of the students journey within their chosen career path ensuring the delivery of a rounded industry related curriculum for students age 14 upwards on the theory and practical sides of working with children, being a teaching assistant and all aspects of health and social care. I have been involved in the curriculum development for all related courses and worked closely with awarding bodies and external agencies within these fields when developing the QCF framework. This involved developing training programs for students and employers in line with current legislation and best practice within the industry. I am a qualified internal verifier for all the awards that were taught in the Faculty of Health and worked closely with the awarding bodies ensuring high standards were maintained. 
I have held managerial roles for many years and lead a variety of teams through the changes to education and research structures to ensure we can all achieve high levels of support, knowledge and skills within the working environment, and the wider communities we collaborate with.
