Viven teaches on the Humanities team and is also involved with the School Experience office in supporting students on School Experience placements.

Vivien also works for Mid Devon Community Family Trust teaching relationship skills in the community.

Vivien began her teaching career in a middle school in London for a year before moving to Swindon to teach for a further 3 years in two primary schools before having a career break for children. She set up and ran a pre-school and resumed teaching part time in 1994 in Devon and continued teaching in a variety of schools until joining Plymouth University School of Education in 2007.
