Welcome to the School of Health Professions where we pride ourselves in the quality and professionalism of our academic offer and where our programmes are designed to meet the demands of contemporary health and social care practice. As you begin your professional journey we will encourage you reach your full potential and achieve excellence in your chosen discipline. We also want you to enjoy your time with us and hope that you will embrace some of the social and recreational opportunities that are such an important aspect of university life.

From the Induction timetable you will see that many activities have been arranged for you and it is important that you attend all of these. These activities will help familiarise you with your chosen programme, introduce you to the Peninsula Allied Health Centre and the main city centre university campus and also signpost some of the support services available to you.

Today's events


You will have your initial occupational health appointment during this time. Appointment times will be available from Monday 18 September in PAHC Reception. Each appointment takes approximately 30 minutes and it is important that you attend as this is a pre-requisite to attending your placement area. Details of the occupational health appointments can be found at PAHC Reception. Please ensure you bring a record of any immunisations you may have had to your first appointment. Your first inoculation may take place at this appointment, there will be a series of follow-up appointments for inoculations throughout the first term. .

If you have a needle phobia please advise occupational health before you start via You will need to quote your name, date of birth and programme in any e-mail.

Failure to attend an occupational health appointment without notifying Exeter Occupational Health may result in a £30 fine. It may also affect progression within your programme.


It is compulsory that you attend this session so that your uniform fits properly and is ordered in time for your placement.


We cannot issue your card if you do not bring your passport. Please note: your card is required to use the free bus scheme.

If you are currently a student on a different programme and already have a University of Plymouth card without the bus logo, please contact and we will arrange for a new card to be issued. 

Essential information

Please ensure you do the following before starting your programme:

  • Enrol online
  • Upload a photograph
  • Complete all of the forms below
Please bring your passport and a copy of your passport to the Administration session together with your completed forms and any certificates or documentation requested by Admissions.

This will enable us to issue your University card which you will need to access the Plymouth University Library, Student Union and free bus service between Plymouth University and the Peninsula Allied Health Centre.

Please note that there is no student parking on site.

Welcome Party

The Faculty of Health and Human Sciences invites you to attend a very special
Welcome Party in the Graduation Marquee on Plymouth Hoe:

Thursday 21 September 2017
7.15pm – 9.45pm*

The Welcome Party is your opportunity to meet informally with other students new to
the Faculty of Health and Human Sciences, as well as some current students and your
academic staff.

Additionally, the evening includes a complimentary welcome drink, nibbles,
entertainment and a raffle for all attendees with a £100 of Amazon vouchers to be won on the night.

*Arrive at the Graduation Marquee on Plymouth Hoe for 7:15pm,
or meet on top of the Student Union at 6:45pm to be accompanied to the venue.

Please note that this event is invitation only, no additional guests will be allowed
entry to the venue.
