Welcome to Plymouth Business School for your Stage 2 studies. You will be joining an international community of maritime business learners. In this year we focus on operations and business functions, gaining the depth and breadth of knowledge that you will need for your work in the Maritime industries. This is an important year for planning your career and gaining useful experience.

IT and Student Services Session

This session will introduce you to the University’s IT systems. It will be useful to both novices and techies as it will take you through how we use IT systems at the University and where you can find useful and important information on our network. 

Careers Session
10.30 – 11.30 BGB006
The Careers and Employability induction session will give you all the information you need to prepare for your future. Helping students to understand everything the service offers, I will talk though who can help with placements, careers guidance, employability workshops and graduate recruitment, just to name a few. The key message will be ‘your career starts now’ and will explore the vital importance of taking all the opportunities available to you whilst studying to enhance your chances of employment after graduation. The session is run by Emily Packer the Careers Adviser for the Faculty of Business.

A general welcome and introduction to Library services and resources lead by your School Information Specialist. The aim is to offer a fun but informative session to get you started in your academic life.

Essential Information for New International Students

Monday 17th – Friday 21st September daily between 16.30 – 17.00 Devonport Lecture Theatre, Portland Square

This session is delivered by the International Student Advice (ISA) team and is an opportunity for new international students to meet the team and learn about the services they deliver. During this session the team will provide you with essential information designed to help you to settle in to living and studying in Plymouth. They will also advise you of your tier 4 visa responsibilities and answer any questions you may have related to your visa. There is no need to book in advance, you can just turn up.
