This session will introduce you to the University’s IT systems. It will be useful to both novices and techies as it will take you through how we use IT systems at the University and where you can find useful and important information on our network.

Induction Meeting 1 for Direct Entry Students
In our first meeting you will be given information about the programme, module choices, assessment and regulations.
13.30 – 14.30 Cookworthy Welcome Centre
You must complete online enrolment and upload a photo prior to attending this session. You will need to bring identification with you to this session. The preferred form of identification is a valid current passport. Please refer to our University Card Collection web page for further details.

In our third meeting the aim is to cover other relevant information about the programme. You will also get a chance to ask any question or enquire about anything in your course or the university that we may have not already covered in our first two sessions.

A general welcome and introduction to Library services and resources lead by your School Information Specialist. The aim is to offer a fun but informative session to get you started in your academic life.
15.30 – 16.30 SHC 2 Upper
The Careers and Employability induction session will give you all the information you need to prepare for your future. Helping students to understand everything the service offers, I will talk though who can help with placements, careers guidance, employability workshops and graduate recruitment, just to name a few. The key message will be ‘your career starts now’ and will explore the vital importance of taking all the opportunities available to you whilst studying to enhance your chances of employment after graduation. The session is run by Emily Packer the Careers Adviser for the Faculty of Business.
