As Dean of Plymouth University Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry I would personally like to welcome you to Plymouth and welcome to our Faculty!  Starting a university program is the beginning of a journey and we are here to help you all the way through. Our staff and your fellow students work together in an integrated set of programs across medicine, dentistry, biomedical and healthcare science. With our support, your energy and creativity you will achieve amazing things. By the time you leave us I expect you to be a different person ready for the next stage of your career. 

Work hard, play hard - have a great time but don’t lose track of why you are here … above all, have fun and enjoy yourself. I look forward to meeting you as we start the new academic year.

I welcome you to Peninsula School of Medicine. You have joined an intellectually challenging and contemporary programme that will prepare you extremely well for safe and effective medical practice. It’s been a lot of hard work to get here, so congratulations on achieving your place at medical school!

You are expected to take responsibility for your learning, and I urge you to strike a good balance between study and leisure time, and to take full advantage of the structured guidance and state-of-the-art resources available to support your studies. We have a very strong education team, comprising scientists and clinicians, all willing and well qualified to support and guide you during the programme, as partners, to help you to achieve your full potential.
