Some documents may need to be returned to the University before you arrive.

As a new student you are required to upload a photograph of yourself using the e@pplicant page.

The photo is required for your University card which will be issued to new students during welcome week. Failure to provide a photo will delay the production of your University card.

Essential Information for International Students

Tuesday 19th – Friday 22nd September daily between 16.30 – 17.00 Devonport Lecture Theatre, Portland Square Building

Delivered by the International Student Advice team, this session is aimed at new international students who did not attend the International Student Orientation programme. The team will advise you of the support services they provide and answer any questions you may have related to your tier 4 visa responsibilities.

0900 – 0915 Arrival and Registration with Phil Warburton and Neil Avent – Room 404, Babbage Building

0915 – 1000 Introduction to your degree course with Phil Warburton, Craig Donaldson and module leads – Room 404, Babbage Building

This meeting is a very important one. It is your first formal contact with the staff most involved with your degree course, and your fellow students. The session will be led by your Subject Tutor, who will introduce you to the school, the structure of degrees at Plymouth, brief details of what topics you might cover during your time here and so on. You will also be told what we expect of you. There will be an opportunity for you to ask questions. During this meeting you will be allocated to a personal tutor.

1000 – 1100 Introduction to IT Services and DLE with Phil Warburton – Room 404, Babbage building

1100 – 1200 Library Session with Sam Brown – Room 404, Babbage Building

A presentation from your subject librarian introducing you to the facilities and services of the University library.

1400 – 1500 Campus Tour – Craig Donaldson and Neil Avent – will meet you outside Room 409, Babbage Building

1845 Meet outside Students Union to be escorted to Plymouth Hoe

1915 – 2145 Faculty Welcome Party – Graduation Marquees, Plymouth Hoe

The Welcome Party is your opportunity to meet informally with other students new to the Faculty, as well as some current students and your academic and professional services staff.

The evening includes a welcome drink and nibbles, entertainment and a raffle for all attendees.
