The Gilwell Residence Life team is made up of hall volunteers who are current students who will be living in your halls of residence throughout your first year.
They are on duty from 17:00–23:00 every weekday and 11:00–23:00 Saturday and Sunday. You can contact them via the duty phone number which is written in your Gilwell hall handbook and displayed on your kitchen notice board. Outside of these hours, the phone number will forward to the University's security team.
What do hall volunteers do?
- Organise and host events
- Provide peer support
- Signpost to university services
- Help with general enquiries
- Provide knowledge of the city and university amenities
Why you should get to know them
They provide a friendly face to new students living in Plymouth, helping you to settle in and to feel part of a thriving community. You may meet them during their duty rounds or at one of the halls of residence events.
