Freshers’ Welcome

Free cream teas: 11–13 and 16–20 September 2019, 14:00–16:00, in the Chaplaincy 

Free meals: 16–18 September 2019, 18:00 onward, Sherwell Church Hall – join us for a free meal as we welcome you to Plymouth. Choice of two meals one vegetarian. For all new students.

Mount Edgcumbe Walk – Saturday 21 September 2019 –  meet outside the Sherwell Centre about 10:45 for a walk around Mount Edgcumbe Country Park. Please bring £4 for the ferry, a packed lunch, and waterproofs if necessary, and wear sensible shoes.

Two Minute Silence Ceremony

Monday 11 November 2019, 10:50–11:10 at the Portland Square Memorial.

A short ceremony to mark the two minute silence on Armistice Day including laying of wreaths.

The University Carol Service

12 December 2019, 19:30, Methodist Central Hall

Get into the Christmas spirit and join us for a service of readings and carols at Methodist Central Hall. With music provided by the University of Plymouth Choral Society among others and refreshments afterwards. There will be a retiring offering in aid of Shekinah Mission. This year the theme will be “A Victorian Christmas” to mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of Queen Victoria.

Jewish Student Meet-up

Wednesday 18 September, 11.00-12.00, Chaplaincy, 1 Kirkby Terrace

Come and meet other Jewish students, your new JSoc team and local synagogue representatives over kosher cake in a safe and welcoming environment. All denominations of Judaism and secular Jewish staff and students are welcome.
