There are three park and ride services into the City Centre. Please use the facilities that operate from Milehouse or Coypool for ease of parking and frequency of service . You can find out more information about these on the Plymouth Park and Ride website.
From the city centre (Royal Parade) it is a 10 minute walk to the graduation marquees.
Plymouth railway station is a twenty minute walk from Plymouth Hoe.
Taxis are available from outside the main entrance and regular buses run from the train station to Royal Parade. Please see the operators websites for service information:
We strongly recommend that you use the park and ride. However, should you decide to drive into the City Centre you should use the car park on Western Approach (881 spaces) and walk to the Hoe. Parking charges are approximately £1 per hour or £5 per day.
Details of additional car parks within a 15 minute walk of the graduation marquees can be found below:
- Elphinstone car park (69 space)
- Theatre Royal car park (612 spaces)
- Colin Campbell Court car park (251 spaces, maximum 3hours)
- Derry’s Cross car park (71 spaces)
On-street parking near Plymouth Hoe is predominantly residents only permit parking so we would advise against that option.
Plymouth Hoe - Parking
The University does have limited parking facilities on Plymouth Hoe for use by those with severe medical conditions who may be attending the ceremonies; normally these spaces would be reserved for Blue Badge holders.
If you or your guests require a space in this car park please indicate this on the web booking form. You will then be allocated a space and should give your name to the parking attendant on the day.
Please note that entry to this parking facility is via Elliot Street and not from Citadel Road.
If either you or any of your guests require special arrangements at the ceremony please ensure that you complete the "Special Arrangements" section on the web booking form. Staff on the ticket table will then be aware of these arrangements and will be able to assist you as appropriate.
