This 20 credit module is delivered at diploma and degree level and will enable you to gain the knowledge and skills required to provide care for the person undergoing endoscopic procedures

At degree level, the module will facilitate the development of specialist clinical and management skills appropriate to the care provision of the person undergoing endoscopic procedures. The module aims to encourage you to further develop an enquiring, critical and reflective approach when caring for patients undergoing gastro-intestinal endoscopy and related procedures.

At diploma level, the module has been designed to provide qualified practitioners with the fundamental knowledge and skills required to provide a service to adults requiring endoscopic procedures. The module aims to facilitate the acquisition or the knowledge base and expertise required to implement the delivery of clinically effective care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. Please note at diploma level this module is called ‘NURB280 - Nursing for gastro-intestinal endoscopy and related procedures’.

This module can be studied as a standalone module at both levels or as an optional module towards some of our BSc (Hons) Professional Development pathways at degree level - please contact the Professional Development Unit for further information.
