What is an applicant day?

Applicant days are subject-specific days which offer you the opportunity to discover your chosen course in much more detail. Tailored exclusively for those applicants who have received an offer to study with the University of Plymouth, the days are an essential step in your applicant journey.

Applicant days take place from January through to March. They offer a wide range of activities and information to help you make an informed choice about where to study. At an applicant day you'll be able to:

  • access more details about your chosen course
  • speak with the professors and academic staff who will guide you in your learning
  • take part in interactive workshops and subject-specific activities
  • explore the city, campus and our state-of-the-art learning facilities
  • chat to current students about their experiences at university
  • meet other applicants who are considering studying at the University of Plymouth
  • learn more about your accommodation options
  • see your Students' Union first hand and discover more about your sport and leisure opportunities, societies and available support.

There's also the chance to find out more about:

  • fees and finance
  • learning and disability support
  • employability services and part-time work opportunities

Why come to an applicant day?

Visiting us is the best way to get an impression of what it feels like to be part of our student community. You may have already visited us at one of our open days but the questions you have now will be very different to the ones you had before making your application and initial choices. Your tailored applicant day is designed to help you make the right decision about your university.

We know you'll be seeking the advice and guidance of your parents, family and friends when making your decision, so we are pleased to extend our invitation to them too.
