The School of Health Professions are pleased to invite you to their April lecture entitled 'Being and Becoming a Reflective Practitioner’ by Professor Chris Johns, University of Bedfordshire.

Professor Johns explains ‘Reflective practice is espoused as an essential teaching approach resulting in the development of reflective healthcare practitioners. Yet how can it be meaningfully assimilated within curriculum that is governed largely by technical rational bias? Put another way – is there room for stories within the classroom?‘

Christopher Johns is visiting professor at University of Bedfordshire where he continues to supervise PhD students using a reflexive narrative methodology he constructed from his interest into reflective practice. His new book ‘Becoming A Mindful Leader’ will be published by Palgrave later this year.

This lecture is part of the School of Health Professions Lecture Series, co-hosted by the Institute of Health and Community. Everybody is welcome to attend, just turn up on the day!
