We see the hashtag #nofilter attached to photographs all the time, but what about cultural and social filters?

What we decide to put in the frame and present to the public can tell us a lot about cultural trends at any one time. In this gallery discussion Dr Sarah Chapman, Director of Peninsula Arts, looks at the different strategies used by archives, including as presented in Collected Shadows, to try and avoid filtering out what may become historically revealing.
