Today Nicola Burke will lead our exploration as we consider how partners in a music collaboration can enhance young children’s learning and development.
Working together musicians and practitioners/teachers can support children to foster their creativity, imagination, critical thinking, cultural awareness, emotional development as well as their linguistic and literacy skills. Throughout the day you will have opportunities to build on your practice by networking with people who are fascinated with early years music and taking part in a range of lively workshops and conversations.
Nicola encourages us to recognise and value young children’s music making and to acknowledge that everyone is born musical. Guided by these beliefs she has written the guidance document Musical Development Matters (Early Education, 2018).
