Save event

Leading South West dementia scientists, including those from Plymouth University, will come together at this free public event to discuss current dementia research.

The day will involve short talks from clinicians and researchers, as well as interactive workshops and an opportunity to ask the experts questions about Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. The meeting is organised by members of the Alzheimer’s Research UK South West Network Centre in partnership with the National Institute for Health Clinical Research Network (CRN) for the South West peninsula.

Dementia experts from a range of backgrounds will be on hand for the day. They include Dr Stephen Pearson, Consultant in Older Age Psychiatry at Devon Partnership NHS Trust, Dr Oleg Anichtchik a neurobiologist from Plymouth University Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry, studying how proteins build up in the brain in dementia; and Dr Ray Sheridan who is a SW CRN clinical specialist research lead and consultant physician in care of elderly people.

Free parking, lunch and refreshments will be provided. Booking in advance is essential because places are limited. To find out more and book contact David Walker on 01752 431386 or email:
