Plymouth Institute of Education is delighted to welcome
three European experts in outdoor learning to the University to talk about their work.
- Lis Reinholdt Kjeldsen is a Senior Lecturer from VIA Campus
Horsens Pedagogical work, Program for Outdoor Learning (Via Out) and
Coordinator for Outdoor Learning on Campus Horsens in VIA, Denmark. Lis's interests are the international project on outdoor learning for integration though
nature and cultural encounters, teaching nature, outdoor life and pedagogy.
- Karen Møller-Jensen is a Senior Lecturer from VIA Campus
Holstebro, Denmark. Karen leads on pedagogical work, the Program for Outdoor
Learning (VIA Out), a project on gardening with disabled people, gardening as a
pedagogical tool and school gardens. Her research interest include teaching
nature and outdoor life, Interprofessional teaching and co-creation.
- Marianne Axelsen is a Senior Lecturer from Campus Aarhus. Marianne's interest are teacher education, the Program for Outdoor Learning (VIA
Out) and a project on history through cooperation with museums.
All three guests will be presenting their own work - come and find out more about outdoor learning in Denmark.
This free seminar is aimed at Education and Environmental Science staff, and student teachers. It is also open to all those with an interest in education, sustainable development and the role the outdoors can play in mental wellbeing.
