Join us to discuss City of Lies: Love, Sex, Death and the Search for Truth in Tehran by Ramita Navai.
Amir strikes up a strange relationship with the judge who condemned his parents. Aristocratic Farideh struggles with loneliness. Bijan and the Police Chief get along in Tehran’s underworld. City of Lies tells the story of eight people living in modern Tehran – surprising, revealing and beautifully written.
Ramita Navai is a British-Iranian journalist and writer. From 2003 to 2009 she was Tehran correspondent for The Times. City of Lies draws on interviews and research from her time in the Iranian capital.
City of Lies was winner of Debut Political Book of the Year at the Paddy Power Political Book Awards 2015.
