Join us for a discussion of Greece and the Greek crisis through books. 

The book club have selected three titles: choose one or more of them and come along ready to share what you've read, or bring along one of your own favourites.

The 13th Labour of Hercules: Inside the Greek Crisis by Yannis Palaiologos 

  • How did a prosperous, European country come to be in such a mess? 
  • Stories of ordinary people and powerful politicians help us to understand what went wrong.

The Papas and the Englishman by Roy Hounsell 

  • The account of an English couple‚Äôs move to the rural north of Greece and how they came to be accepted into the traditional community they found there.

Greece on My Wheels by Edward Enfield 

  • Travels through the Peloponnese and the rugged heartlands of Epirus and Acarnania, in a narrative that mixes insight into modern Greece with stories from its long history.
