Dr James Gregory, Lecturer in Modern British History at Plymouth University, talks about the Victorian history of spiritualism in Plymouth.
The spiritualist movement was born in the 19th century and its legacy in Plymouth is apparent in the spiritualist churches and organisations that exist in modern Plymouth.
The 'crusade in the South West' that was reported in the national spiritualist press, was centred on Plymouth and Exeter, and the talk will look at some of the figures and activities in Plymouth spiritualism.
This talk is free to attend but registration is required via the Eventbrite website*.
