Early engineering was entirely mechanical in nature.

Then machines and electronics began to become programmable, leading to the creation of seemingly quite clever machines. Only recently have some software engineers become interested in creating software that truly is delivered by robust engineering methods. Component Oriented Software is one such engineering methodology.

The presenter will cover a Component Oriented Development Environment for the software components of systems. This will lead to some small examples of how such components can be examined in detail and fully certified for compliance with all of their requirements.

This talk will be given by Paul Bennett from HIDECS Consultancy.

Start time: 7pm.

Refreshments will be available before the start of the lecture from 6.30pm in either Room 002 or 003, Babbage Building.

All welcome.
