International Holocaust Memorial Day is marked every year on 27 January - the day that Auschwitz-Birkenau was liberated and a day to remember the six million Jews murdered during the Holocaust, the millions of people killed under Nazi persecution and in subsequent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur. 

All are welcome to join us at this free community lunch on Monday 28 January to mark International Holocaust Memorial Day. There will be speakers and a chance for reflection and conversation over a light vegetarian/vegan lunch. 

12:30–13:00: Food served and a space for Minchah (afternoon prayers) for those who wish to pray.

13:00–13:15: Welcome from Andrew Grace - University Equality & Diversity Advisor

13:15–13:25: Survivor’s Testimony: a short film from the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust.

13:25–13:35: Reading from Jeremy Jacobson of Kehillat Kernow.

13:35-13:45: - Remembering the Rwandan Genocide - Jabo Butera, Diversity Business Incubator 

13:45–14:00: My Visit to Auschwitz – Talk by Tilda Fraser, VP University of Plymouth Students Union.

14:00–14:30: Reflection and conversation over food.
