The next Innovation Club meeting takes place at St Austell with two inspiring and insightful speakers who will provide a unique insight to innovation in very different markets.

Those attending this free networking event will have an opportunity to ask questions and debate innovation issues.

James Staughton, Chief Executive of St Austell Brewery

St Austell Brewery is one of Cornwall's largest employers and remains 100% independent and family owned. The company does far more than brew multiple award winning beer, and James, the great-great grandson of the company founder who has been with St Austell Brewery since 1980 will provide an insight to recent developments. These include innovative initiatives such as Academy 1851, a leading training centre for people working in hospitality, or interested in a career within the licensed hospitality industry.

John Stewart and Andy Cooper, Worlds Apart

Based at St Columb, Worlds Apart - designers and creators of children’s lifestyle products - bring a unique playful approach to the design process, with collaboration, curiosity and disruption being central to the 'Worlds Apart Way'. With hugely successful products such as Readybed and a continuing need to rapidly develop new products in a competitive market, John's and Andy's experiences will have resonance to all those seeking to develop new products and services. As co-founder of the company in 1980, John will provide insight to the design process while Andy will focus on the successful commercial exploitation of innovative new products.

About the Innovation Club

What is Innovation? Turning ideas into money? Developing new services? Introducing more efficient ways of working?

The answer is all of these things, and more. Innovation - doing things differently - is one of the fundamental drivers of business success. But how do you foster innovation within a business? How can you turn ideas into reality - and crucially, how can you innovate more and better?

Innovation Club is a club for all businesses – large or small. As members you will be able to share stories and experience with those that may have faced the same challenges. How do you finance innovation? How can you exploit technology effectively? How do you create an innovation culture in your business?
