Industry 4.0 is a name given to the current trend of automation and data exchange in manufacturing technologies. 

It includes cyber-physical systems, the Internet of Things, cloud computing and cognitive computing. Industry 4.0 is commonly referred to as the fourth industrial revolution.

Ian Allison FIRSE, IET Guest Lecturer from Park Signalling Ltd will interpret this vision with regards to remote condition monitoring and product development within a number of industries including rail. 

This is a joint event between the Institution of Engineering and Technology (Devon and Cornwall Network) and the Institution of Railway Signal Engineers. The event is open to all and will be of particular interest to IRSE/IET members and university students. No registration is required to attend.
