This event is for University of Plymouth students only.

Do you want to teach English in Japan? To find out how, come to this official Embassy of Japan presentation.

The Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme is the official Japanese government scheme aiming to improve foreign language teaching in Japanese schools and to promote international understanding.

If you are selected, you'll be engaged on a one-year contract (possibilities to extend) as an Assistant Language Teacher in a state school or education centre. You'll earn a full salary as you live and work in Japan, be flown out to Japan and back, and meet other JET participants from over 40 countries.

You'll need a bachelors degree, but Japanese language skills and prior teacher training are not required though they can be useful. This is a highly competitive programme, and is very highly regarded on your CV.

Find out more at this event where the Embassy of Japan will send one of its representatives (a former JET participant and University of Plymouth BA (Hons) History graduate) to deliver the talk and to answer any questions you may have.

Visit the JET Programme website or contact ukjet@ld.mofa.go.jp for further information.
