A tall ship will sail into Sutton Harbour on 27 September to commemorate the historic homecoming of The Clove 400 years ago. This re-enactment is the centrepiece of Japan400 Plymouth, an eight-day international event that celebrates the historic and cultural links binding the United Kingdom and Japan.
Japan400 Plymouth reaffirms these links and opens new opportunities for exchange, collaboration and discovery.
This workshop is taught by Hannah-Jasmine Brunskill whose passion for the art of Japanese drumming has ignited tremendous interest in Plymouth and the region.
Hannah is a generous and skilful teacher with a real interest in making Taiko an accessible art from. Hannah leads students gently into the form developing stance, breath, power and the deep understanding of being together as a ‘taiko team’ that is central to the art form.
Admission: £20 (concessions/students £15).
